Token Expire Date - how does it work?

Question

Hello,

I cant get how expire date for the token works.
How I think it should work:
Token is one time use - once it is used no other person may use it
Expiration date determines the end time when I can activate the token itself or end date when I can watch stream

But, it does not work this way. Using rest I requested for token with expiration date "1560441924" and type "play" - i was able to get access to stream few minutes ago at "1560493280"

So, how expireDate works?
