Stream Security: Undefined Streams

Question

Hello,

I feel like there's a lot missing from the documentation.

I have some blanks to be filled.

I'll start with Undefined Streams

What I understand so far:
When the option is not selected, the WebRTCAppEE/LiveApp will not accept publishing streams that have undefined StreamIds. Correct?

What I'm missing:
The tooltip on the checkbox option, mentions a database for defining streams. Where is this database? What type of database? Where/how do you define streamIds ?

Any insights would be much appreciated.

Hi Schnee,

Let me try to answer your questions.
Yes, when "Accept Undefined Streams" is not selected, the streams will not be published for undefined streamID.i.e., the streamID which is not already listed in the respective application dashboard/database.

In Time based One Time Password (TOTP), the database stores the subscriber ID, secret key and the subscriber type associated (Publish/Play) for a particular streamID. The same can be checked by calling REST API
rest/v2/broadcasts/stream1/subscriber-stats/list/0/5
We have a recorded session describing different stream security options and I will recommend you to have a look at it as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74CB4Ji3CVw&t=2299s
