Question

Hi All

I am an Ant Media User (Enterprise) and wanted to hear about suggestions to optimize my video streaming.

My Use case is:

USB Webcam  -> Linux OBS  -------->  Verizon 4G (M2M) ---------------->   Ant Media Server

My Linux has a good GPU card and wondering how I can improve the streaming overall. I understand the Verizon 4G could be the transport presenting issues (4G coverage/dead spots/etc) and I would like to understand if i.e. disabling audio could improve the streaming, etc

Should I play with the adaptive bitrate?

Thanks All

JP

Hi Jean,

Hope you are fine.

Please make sure that you have putted settings as mentioned in the OBS guide for optimum results and you can change resolution, bitrate as per your requirement. Also your internet should be good enough to publish the stream smoothly without having frame drops and distance between the publisher & server should be minimum.

There are other aspects also to improve stream quality, please check

Yes, enabling adaptive bitrate is a good practice for better streaming experience for viewers but as you know ABR is a CPU intensive process so it requires high CPU resources.

Regards,

Yash
