RTMP Buffer

Question

Hi Guys,

New to antmedia, we have an existing android app that uses vlc plugin, were using rtmp:// direcly to play, is there something I can configure in the settings to add buffering in the android app?

we tried rtmp.sendbuffersize and receivebuffersize  makes no effect

Hope you are doing well.
As far as I understand, with VLC plugin you are trying to play RTMP stream using Ant Media server. Generally we do not recommend RTMP playback as RTMP protocol is already dying and also we do not maintain it anymore on the server side. In future releases it will be completely removed from the server. But as you are trying to increase the latency by adding buffer so instead of RTMP I suggest you to directly use the HLS protocol with 8-12 sec latency if it is ok for you.

thank you, were stuck with rtmp playing for now, we need 3-5 second delay and the app is vlc player that we cant change at the moment.

btw we tried on a single instance (enterprise) c5.2xlarge, c5.4xlarge, c5.9xlarge

and another instance c5n.2xlarge using Flazr  http://sourceforge.net/projects/flazr/ as load test tool for rtmp clients

 

all of them same cant handle 1k viewers, audio and video would stutter
