Possible Progress Bar when Uploading - Possible other way to upload VOD

Hello 

I don't know if this was treated, I looked for it finding nothing

It's a progress bar will be possible when we upload a VOD ?

The issue we have is that we upload very Big Mp4 File, like 24 Hour of video, and sometime the download seems to be stuck. Like today, uploading a 37 Gb File since 7 AM, we are at 08 AM and the download still continue 😶, if not stuck I don't knw
A week earlier, we have the same issue, We cancel and make another upload, and strangely, the file was duplicate, even if the ID, was different, i was obligate to cancel the first one as I do not know if it have complete checksum integrity

For info, the issue is not either my Internet Connection, 1 Gg in Up neither the server side. I am using also Object storage to save big identical  file as backu for these same video and he took me less than  30 minute to do fr the file currently uploading, (Same provider as for the VPS and same network - 1 Gb up and down on their side)

Than, is there another way to upload the video, Like of I install a Ftp server that will upload on the right directory. Is Antmedia will create automatically the OD of the file uploaded in its directory or we must do something

Hello @Charssay

You should create a feature request on github (here) for the progress bar.

 

A hack might be useful here like :

Upload a smaller file (lets say 2 mb) using VOD from console. Now after successful upload you will get the video name in VOD list. Copy this file name (VOD ID) and save it in a notepad temporary.

Now connect your media server instance using FTP OR SCP Command, and upload the bulky file to the VOD folder (/usr/local/antmedia/webapps/YOUR_APP_NAME/streams)

After successful upload delete the older (2 mb) file and rename the latest uploaded file, which you saved in notepad.

You can test this with sample video files of smaller size.

Also @rahul7827, thank you for your recommendations and workaround. You are great as always.

@Charssay, We have implemented a solution on the server side for the progress bar when uploading a VOD file under VOD section.

This feature will be available with the next release.

You can test it with the snapshot version that I have shared with you on your mail address.
