Question

Short description

I'm fairly new to ant media I have both community and enterprise, I tested my 4k and HD video stream on YouTube on both community and enterprise through the live app on ant media but the output quality is still at 360p, is there a way to change it, so that my output quality is higher? because I want to be able to stream in 4k.

Output of video to YouTube should be either 1080p or 2160p

Output is only coming out at 360p with adaptive streaming set

Ok try as follows:

1. Remove the bit rate on the server side.
2. Send the stream with 1080p or 4K on the server directly and then watch it on the YouTube. On YouTube you will get multiple bit rates to play.

As I mentioned, in this case server will forward your stream as it is on the YouTube.

I created a video in premier pro which I exported in 4K, which is a mp4 I already had a linode Ant media Server which was community, so I just created a new Ant Media Enterprise Server in linode from there I signed into Ant Media and created a playlist in Live App, I then went to VOD and uploaded my 4k mp4 file, I took the VOD ID and went to edit playlist and created the URL and saved it. I then went to settings and enabled adaptive streaming where I selected 2160p and 9000kbps which my husband told me was the correct kbps and then clicked save. Then I went to start stream, and I had it set up on YouTube that my husband could view on his end to check if it was outputting the quality at 4k or at least giving the option to view it in 4k but it was only giving the option of 360p.

Hi sorry have no idea what JS SDK would you mind explaining? my video is in 4K that I want to stream for 24/7 its just not giving 4k as an option for quality on YouTube side

There are different SDK available in antmedia github repository for building applications on different platform (Android, IOS, WEB). JS SDK is one of them, using which developer used to create webRTC based application (Interaction using browsers). But in your case it seems you are using rtmp protocol for publishing the stream to youtube (So its not useful for you).

@xxd4rkph0enix2 just to reiterate on what yash said earlier, your bottleneck could be on the settings you selected on server when setting up the playlist.

1. make sure you are able to play the stream through ant media server locally. Then you will know the stream works.

2. for YouTube you have be sure that the encoding, audio etc are as per YouTube requirements.

3. without abr setting once and see if the stream plays locally and on YouTube.

4. try a lower quality version of the file you created in the playlist and see if that works.
