As you know, WebRTC is a CPU intensive protocol. For most of the servers, CPU power determines the maximum number of WebRTC viewers. However, this is valid for cases where the server bandwidth is sufficient to meet that number of viewers. Sometimes, the bandwidth may be too low to handle the numbers. In this case the bandwidth would be bottleneck.
The maximum number of viewers in terms of a bandwidth value, can be calculated as Server_Bandwidth/Stream_Bitrate.
For example;
In a Digital Ocean 16-core CPU optimized dedicated server can handle less than we expected. When we have made some research on this and recognized that the bandwidth that the server provides can not meet expected maximum WebRTC viewers.
