Question

Hey Antmedia,

We are getting Low quality video playback with RTMP forward feature.

We are using antmedia version 2.1 and our solution is based on webrtc to RTMP, and we are using livestream.com service for RTMP pulling, but somehow we are getting 360p quality only at livestream player.

I tried playing webrtc player directly on antmedia web panel, its in good quality as expected. but facing quality issue ony with RTMP playback.

Livestream help doc for reference :

We currently stuck with this issue and expecting a quick response from your side .

Also, I have seen antmedia 2.2 release notes, where you guys have mentioned some configuration changes in "WebRTC to RTMP", can you give more clarity on this ?

Thanks,
Anurag Goel

We are not supporting RTMP pulling anymore but we are still supporting RTMP endpoint which RTMP push.

Changes done in 2.2 for RTMP is: https://github.com/ant-media/Ant-Media-Server/issues/2485 and https://github.com/ant-media/Ant-Media-Server/issues/2316
It seems first one might be related with your case but I'm not sure about it yet.
If you are using RTMP playback which is pulling, we are not supporting it anymore but you can use RTMP push as adding endpoints.

Could you clarify and elaborate please?

Best Regards,
Enes.

I checked about this and saw that you can change this value: settings.heightRtmpForwarding in the red5-web.properties file. This is likely not available and you need to add this.

This is by default is 360p.
If you are going to use rtmpforward=true, you can use your desired resolution here.
Best Regards,
Enes.
