Reconnecting ICE

Question

Hello,

Is there a suggestion on how to implement; on client side; ICE reconnect when ICE Fail status is reached during a live meeting (not at the start of call but during a call)?

Also, on ICE status of Disconnected, what is the recommendation: to refresh the browser or exit and rejoin meeting or is there a better option.

Thx.

Reconnect is a better option, when you rejoin, others see you leave the room and that is distracting and poor user experience.

All major solutions implement reconnect so it would be great if you can explore and suggest.

Rejoining the meeting or refreshing the browser sounds easiest way to do it.
There is also reconnect option but I haven't checked how it is working in conference mode.

By the way, ice connection sets on failed only when you failed to connect. Usually when you connected and somehow disconnected,  it is still trying to reconnect. You can check connection states from here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/RTCPeerConnection/iceConnectionState

Best  Regards,
Enes.
