Question

Hi, We are using ant media server community
edition. Actually we have a server that encodes 4 v4l2 live streams and 4
live audio streams, encoded in h264/aac, with ffmpeg, and send in flv
format with rtmp. We have tried to send 4 streams to Live App and also
WebRTC streams. We have about 30-60seconds of delay from live. We would
like to know If enterprise edition reduce this delay and how much it
reduces. Trying to capture video with vlc directly from
rtmp://antmedia/LiveApp/streamid we have a delay of 4 seconds, but we
need to show stream on ios with safari, rtmp is not supported and we
tried with m3u8. Thank you very much Regards Alfredo Marchini

Hi Alfredo,

Thank you for contributing the community.

Let me answer your question

In community edition, it plays live streams with HLS and its latency
can be decreased to 8-10 seconds at min. You're having 30-60 seconds
latency, you can tune it to decrease to 8-10 seconds. By setting key
frame interval to 2 seconds.

In enterprise edition, latency can be decreased to 0.5 seconds for
WebRTC Playback. We use WebRTC for playing so that it can play on
Safari and other browsers as well.
