Ant Media Server Autoscaling

Question

I just saw a Ant Media tutorial on scaling via cloud formation on you tube. I went through the GitHub wiki page https://github.com/ant-media/Ant-Media-Server/wiki/Clustering-&-Scaling. Howe veer some things are not very clear regarding scaling. I might have misread but i will ask again anyways:

1. Using cloud formation do you get static scaling or dynamic autoscaling?
2. There is draft page on kubernetes which talks about autoscaling.Does that mean without using kubernetes we get only static scaling on cloud platforms?
3. How doe sclustering happen in case of autoscaling then?

Apologies if some of these questiosn are obvious.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback, we can change and evolve the documentation if the community can provide feedbacks about it on not clear parts or missing parts.

1.It is dynamic, we use the auto-scaling structure of AWS.
2.No it is dynamic on AWS using cloud formation. You don't have to use kubernetes for auto-scaling, most of our users don't.
3.It is based on CPU, if you say the limit is 60%, new instance will be created and join cluster automatically when the CPU usage becomes 60% if you use cloudformation yaml.

Cheers
