Hello,

We are using antmedia server for two years now and were one of the first requesting and funding the initial development of the unity sdk.
Is there any possibility that the sdk will be updated? It is agees it is not, and it has some problems which are very specific to VR conferencing, in which we are focused, that don't allow us to integrate the solution on VR headsets.
Appreciate any feedback by the antmedia team.
Thanks.

Hi Marco,

Hope you are fine.

Yes, we can confirm that there is a possibility to update the SDK. So, we've started to plan activities to improve the Unity SDK and we will let you know about the plan soon.

Please just bear with us sometime.

Regards,

Yash

Our main issue is that the sdk you are providing forces the app to look for a camera in the device also if you are running an audio only conference call, and if it doesn't find it, the app crashes.
In the context of VR this is a major issue, since all new devices like oculus quest and HTC focus/flow, don't allow accessing the cameras.
I know it is very specific for a use case, but I am also sure you will benefit as a company, since with the all the Metaversa hype, it cuts you out of the equation when it comes to integrating your solution in an XR context..

Hi Marco,

Thanks for pointing out issue and  your suggestions.

As my colleague Mohit & Ougz is following up with you on another mail thread so I am closing this one here for now and will post it again when there will be any update regarding the same.

Meanwhile you can create the issue on our git hub as well https://github.com/ant-media/Ant-Media-Server/issues/new/choose

Regards,

Yash
